ARCHIVIST WANTED

 

 

The American Numismatic Society invites applications for the position of a full-time or part-time Archivist to identify, appraise, arrange and describe, and provide access to historical records of a non-profit organization preparing for its 150 th anniversary.

 

Founded in 1858, the American Numismatic Society is a non-profit educational/museum housing America's largest numismatic library and most comprehensive collection of coins and medals.   The Archivist's initial position addresses the ANS' needs as we prepare for both our relocation to lower Manhattan, and our 150 th Anniversary celebration.

 

Required Qualifications: MLS/MLIS or MA degree in history or related field with archival concentration. Desired: Knowledge of non-profit institutions; preservation and conservation issues and practices; good verbal and written communication skills; up-to-date knowledge of archival computer applications.
