IMPORTANT NOTICE RE: 2008 and 2009 Summer Seminar

Re: 2008 and 2009 ANS Summer Seminar

In June and July of 2008 the ANS is moving into a wonderful new space
at One Hudson Square in Manhattan. This means, unfortunately, that
the Eric P. Newman Summer Graduate Seminar in Numismatics, usually
held during those months, is cancelled for 2008. In June and July of
2009 we shall resume with an expanded seminar that, in addition to
teaching students the mechanics and methodologies of numismatics,
serves to introduce them to the wider social, historical, and
economic context of monetary instruments and systems. Application
materials (due February 13, 2009) and other information for the 2009
Seminar can be found at http://www.numismatics.org/seminar. Information on
the history of the Seminar can be found at: http://www.numismatics.org/archives/GraduateSeminar.html.

Please feel free
to contact the Seminar co-directors,

Peter van Alfen (vanalfen@numismatics.org) or

Richard Witschonke (rickwitschonke@yahoo.com) if you have any additional questions.
