A unique opportunity for the serious numismatist to experience the American Numismatic Society’s collections and facilities...

On March 8, 1858, Augustus B. Sage penned an invitation to the first meeting of the American Numismatic Society, to be held in his home in New York City. One of the first numismatic societies established in the U.S., the American Numismatic Society was formed as a forum in which numismatists could engage in a scholarly exchange about coins. To commemorate the spirit of the early meetings, the ANS has established a new level of membership named after one of the Society’s original founders, Augustus B. Sage.
